Payroll Officer

Summary

Who we are

At Via, our mission is to provide the best health and wellbeing support to as many people as possible, helping them to change their lives for the better.

Last year, we supported over 11,000 people across the UK affected by alcohol and drug use. Everything we do is driven by our values:

• Care. Care for people is at the heart of everything we do.

• Be human. We are accessible, genuine and humble. Always learning.

• Do the right thing. We’re open, honest and inclusive. We get things done.

We want to recruit the very best talent. We believe in nurturing a positive workplace culture where our colleagues feel valued, recognised, empowered, and supported.

What we’re looking for

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and growing organisation.

We’re looking for a confident and experienced Payroll Officer to join our People team to support on all things payroll and pensions at Via. You will support our Payroll Manager with the end-to-end payroll process, working closely with our outsourced provider and supporting the wider People Team with admin, projects, and data.

A real team player who’s worked in an HR/People team before and knows how to support colleagues across the organisation.

Someone who’s not afraid to get stuck in, take ownership, and make things happen.

Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and pension schemes.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Confident using payroll systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Passionate about supporting services that work with vulnerable or socially excluded groups.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be supporting with payroll changes, liaising with pension providers, note taking at our Pay Panel, and supporting key people initiatives. You’ll also be the first point of contact for payroll and pension queries, so being approachable and solutions-focused is key.

Are you a payroll pro who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves being part of a collaborative People team? Do you enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in to make things happen? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Deadline: Friday 03 July 2026 at midnight.

Interviews are likely to take place week commencing the 20th July 2026.

Salary: £19,694.42 (£32,824.04 FTE) plus London Weighting where applicable £1,350pa (£2,250pa FTE)

Vacancy type: Permanent, home based

Working hours: 22.5 hours per week (flexible on days with some movement to meet payroll deadlines required)

Our Payroll Manager is happy to talk through this role, what a typical day might look like, development opportunities, and Via’s national network. You can reach Kayleigh Cross at kayleigh.cross@viaorg.uk
